Game rules

Five round swiss tournament: every player will play five games, win or lose.
For each game, players earn points: 1 for a win, ½ for a draw, 0 for a loss.
After each round, players will be paired based on same/similar point totals.
If a player doesn't have an opponent to face, it will be assigned 1 point automatically (BYE)
Listen and look for your board number and color. Pairings will be announced and posted shortly before each round.
Before starting your game, shake hands.
If you need help during a game, raise your hand and wait.
Games start without a clock. Every board has a clock that is off.
If a game is not completed in 15 minutes, the clock will be turned on by an adult. Each player will have 5 minutes on his clock to complete the game.
If a player’s clock runs out of time, the game is over and he loses.
When a game finishes, shake hands. Reset the board. Report the results to the scorer’s table for Grades 3-4 and for Grades 5-8.
